The talk selection process
The key point of the whole process was the anonymous talk selection: After we’ve closed the call for contributions, we anonymized all submissions. The program committee received a long list including just the talk’s title and the description without any other data. This means that the evaluation of each proposed talk, was based only on the title and abstract of the talk (but not based on who submitted it). The program committee rated every talk with a grade of 1 to 4 (1 = no fit to the topic, 4 = fits perfect to the topic). Besides the ratings we asked the program committee members to give some feedback to the submitters of the talks.
